Last Feb i went to very beautiful city of Salvador de Bahia because of my fiancé who i met in my home country lives there All you said in your videos is very true and my fiancé also tells the same as you do The good, the less goods Safety in the big cities is always an issue, even at daytime We avoid taking the city busses and grab an Uber instead, as it is door to door and thus the safest option to travel in the big cities the long distance busses are safe and a good way to travel too Most important thing is to dress up like a local and not wear luxury on your neck and wrist Leave your luxury smartphone at the hotel in a safe and take a small camera and put that in a small waiste bag underneath your shirt, you can upload the pics later to your phone and/or computer The phone you want to take with you is an old (empty) spare phone where you put a local simcard in Make a copy of your passport and plastify this and wear this one with you The original you keep in the hotel locker as well Also leave a copy at your family in case of emergency As a foreigner you already get (un)wanted enough attention, specially when you travel solo The touristic places like Morro do Sao Paulo, Praia do Forte and Porto Seguro are relatively safe and you can enjoy the most beautiful beaches with the best views The bars with live music are very lively and locals do know how to party! Are you in a bar at the Favela's? Enjoy but also be aware! A beer is fine, but those places are not the places to get drunk The people from Brazil who i have met, were and are all great people 'Their home is my home' and they wanted to show me the places where they go and all are very proud of their country Also don't talk about politics People are very passionate when it comes to politics, + soccer(football), samba and carnaval Hope next year to watch a soccermatch Also, when you order meat at a restaurant, tell them how you want it to be prepared Rare, medium or well done, otherwise you always will get it well-done Google Translate helps a lot as most people don't speak English Borra Bahia Minha Poha <3 Comment from : Christiaan D
