I visited Shanghai a few weeks ago, and it was quite challenging Firstly, using a taxi was incredibly difficult because I couldn't speak Chinese, and they didn't accept foreign credit cards Even the staff at a 4-star hotel struggled with English Uber wasn't an option WeChat wasn't helpful either, as it didn't support foreign credit cards I couldn't even use the hotel dryers, which only accepted WeChat or Alipay when linked to local bank accounts The airport experience wasn't welcoming, and securing a taxi took almost an hour due to communication barriers If you don't speak fluent Chinese or have a bank account in China, be prepared for significant challenges Comment from : Astrocat |
