What a great informative video 😊 Im Irish and live on the border between Dublin and Meath, so I can be in Dublin City by bus in 30 mins and come home whenever suits One of the great things about our country is that you can drive North to south or east to west in 4 hours or less So you get to see a lot of the country in a short amount of time depending how long you want to stay in each place As an Irish person who lives on the east my entire life, I will say the best parts of Ireland are in the west The scenery, the people, the craic (not A craic 😊) the west is the place to be Except the weather isn’t as good as it is in the east because you have the Atlantic blowing in on you bringing more rain and cold

The expense in country is definitely one benefit It takes the edge of the 1k peak season airfare when you're only paying $500 per person for a full week of accomodations with a group of 5 people in a quiet town just outside Galway

Just spent a lovely two weeks traveling all over Ireland and watched your videos before I went I absolutely adored every single second!!! Had to wait out a huge storm that rolled in off the ocean on the cliffs of Moher but once the rain cleared it was such stunning view worth getting a soaking just for those once in a lifetime views 🥰🙏🙏

The place I would recommend visiting and doing a guided tour is Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin if you want to learn about Irish history it's the place to go

The one thing I can advise anyone coming here is AVOID Dublin altogether , get a flight to Shannon and stay in the west , Dublin is a major shithole , the city is just just like any other European city except it had a 10-1 ratio of drug addicts than every other city ,there everywhere,and you won't see as many Irish people in Dublin as youd imagine,there are thousands of Romanians gippos , asylum seekers everywhere all out to rob you given half a chance , and the tourist trap that is temple bar where you can pay a fortune for a pint and something to eat ,in all honesty the government should really do something about it it's a scandel that it's allowed to go on atall , extortion and a terrible terrible representation of Ireland to the world , avoid Dublin like the plague, the second you hit the m7 west is the time you'll see the real ireland ,and as I said just fly to Shannon and land in the heart of the real ireland

This will never grow old Ireland was my first “European” destination on our NYC Halifax Azores Ireland to Southampton Silversea cruise My grandmother maiden name Dwyer and oh boy at pubs I had folks telling me where “my people lived” and one gent showed me his drivers license and indeed he has same name He wanted to know if their Budweiser tasted like our Budweiser what fun it was to be in this 1700’s pub And I smiled just like you before kissing the Blarney Stone The joke there was “you know what we do after all the tourists leave” (relieve themselves at the stone down throw that hole ) They got a kick out of that for sure My first experience with cider too after

Just a reminder re Ireland They speak English and overall are favorably disposed to Americans So if you go to a pub you can ask the bartender questions It is much easier Of - if walking in the countryside - have waterproof shoes I mean it The local use rubber boots

I’m one of those people who is bummed about our airfare knowing it has been knowing it could be more reasonable pre-pandemic We’re paying close to $900 each coming from Mpls end of April but I got tired of watching it for over 6 months and it not budging Even now, even though I booked it a couple months ago, I keep looking at our airfare, and it hasn’t gone down That said, I’m SO excited to visit!!

Thanks for the update brI've never been myself though my father was Irish He was a CPA but he also sang in the Starlight Theater He played the fiddle and sang Irish songs for his kids He yearned to be a farmer on the land brMy wife is Irish / Lebanese Our half Irish daughter did on her lonesome just what you recommended a few years back; flew to Dublin, got the car and headed immediately to Doolin I warned her Lisdoonvarna was on She steered clear of that After checking out the Cliffs and heading down the coast she stayed in a very nice rural Inn outside Killarney She walked the Gap of Dunloe ( ran some of it to make the ferry crossing) Jesus, Mary & Joseph, she loved it all brAs she tells it #1 was, as you said, the Irish! And Dingle! She had a wonderful time pubbing in Dingle She loves seafood and their's is as fresh as it gets

Do not rent your car from Avis, they scam you into buying their car insurance coverage which almost doubles the price of the rental We have used Hertz in several EU countries and they let you use your existing car insurance on your car rental, no extra chargers like Avis

If in Dublin any you want to taste the best Guinness around get to the grave diggers in glasnevin, a bar that has stood in time that has never changed over the years, seriously the Guinness is amazing and while there why not pop next door and visit glasnevin cemetery where so many of our 1916 heroes are buried including Michael Collins and most of all have a great time
